At present, the Indians have paid approximately seventeen major forms of indirect taxes. Let us take an example from one simple day to the day. Every match box was sealed with a printed white strip of paper, wasn’t it? What was that? Have you ever taken the time to know? Maybe it’s NO! It was the receipt of the payment of excise duties. GST subsumes all these bewildering laws, regulatory standards and removes corruption, incompetence substantially.
Hardly 2% of Indians are subject to direct tax, mainly income tax. Let’s face a matter of fact. We Indians are inherently dishonest. We take pride in tax evasion, across the board.
At the same time, we are blissfully unaware that, as has already been said, indirect taxes affect all of us. It’s the umbrella legislation now.
In the case of direct tax, the applicant must file his own tax return. Indirect tax does not require an individual to do so.
Yes there are teething issues in GST rollout. As of now, problems have been resolved.
Until we agree that we have a duty towards our motherland, we have no right to expect anything from our country. Are we??
Where the capital goes to metal roads so that you can ride your bike or drive your car? Where electricity comes from so that you can access the internet through your laptop or tablet, which is charged by the plug points.
It’s about time that we Indians tried at least to be a bit less daft and a little more practical.
