A driving license allows you to drive a car on the road safely. It is a relevant permit from the Government of India and hence driving without one is illegal.
Moving with no Driving license
Increased road mishaps have made it necessary for the government to take stern action against those who do not drive carefully and those who drive without a driving license (after all, your driving license is a driving license that shows that you know how to drive in the first place!) Any person found driving without a driving license is liable for a fine of up to Rs 5,000-depending on your state and country.
Running without Driving license and causing accidents
If anyone happens to drive a vehicle without a license and meets an injury, their license will be canceled automatically. A fine of Rs.5,000/-and/or imprisonment that may be extended for the first time to 6 months shall be paid. However, on a second conviction, the driver can be jailed for up to 1 year and/or charged up to Rs. 10,000.
In the following cases, what can I do?
a. If you lose your license, then promptly contact the police department in your town to let them know if your driving license is losing. Please request an F.I.R. file. And visit the Notary’s office to obtain an affidavit to remind you that you lost your driving license.
You will submit a duplicate license to include your copy of the Affidavit and F.I.R after you have finalized the complaint.
b. Using RTO Form 9 request for the renewal when your license expires – if your license expires. You would then need to include the initial revoked driver license, photos passport size.
